The People's Republic of China (PRC) (simplified Chinese: 中华人民共和国; traditional Chinese: 中華人民共和國, commonly known as China, is the largest country in East Asia and the most populous in the world with over 1.3 billion people, approximately one-fifth of the world's population. It is a socialist republic (specifically a people's democratic dictatorship according to its constitution) ruled by the Communist Party of China under a single-party system, and has jurisdiction over twenty-two provinces, five autonomous regions, four municipalities, and two largely self-governing Special Administrative Regions (Hong Kong and Macau). The PRC's capital is Beijing.

Psyscene in CHINA

Psytrance is still relatively new in China and extremely underground. Parties are few and far between for such a large country with only a few cities having regular nights. In Beijing there is the GoaProductions crew, which has only been throwing parties since the start of the year. In shanghai there is the Magic Garden posse who have been throwing parties since 2001, whilst in Hong Kong there is Psyonic Boom.

Although the scene in China is relatively small there seems to be new snippets of information coming out all the time. People out in the Chinese wilderness are getting parties and a small Psy scene together. In Chong Qing, Wuhan, Kunming and Heilongjiang, there have been whispers of 3-day bamboo forest parties, mad hatters tea parties, and general psychedelic encounters.

At the moment everyone that is here and is involved in the scene pretty much knows everyone so its kind of a special time. Its Intimate and connected with no commerciality. Lots of Djs play for free and there is a real desire to spread the word and switch more people on………
