Genepool

Genepool are a father and son Live Psychedelic Trance act (Shane and Jherek Constable) from Kenmare, Co. Kerry, in the South West of Ireland. Orginally from England they moved to Ireland 15 years ago and it is now their home. Genepool Their musical interests go back a long way. They are both drummers, Shane played drums in a few bands in the late 70's & early 80's their styles were psychedelic rock, their influnences came from Pink Floyd, Gong, Hawkwind, Steve Hillage and other acts alike. Jherek currently plays drums and bits of percussion with a couple of bands and has also been DJing psytrance at parties. He is heavily influenced by psychedelic rock, but has evolved his interests into psychedelic trance, which, he stumbled on in the late 90's. He got his dad into listening to psychedelic trance which he understood and had an immediate attraction to, and he was quickly caught by the trance. Together they slowly started to try and make psytrance. Using their percussive knowledge and understanding of sound, and the help of one of their good friends Ajja Leu of Peak Records they started developing their own unique blend of psy-trance. They have played at a number of parties and festivals around Ireland and Europe along side well known artists in the Psychedelic scene, like Ajja, Yab Yum, Hallucinogen, Hyper frequencies, Cosmosis, Kala, Yudishtira, DJ Ketil, just to name a few. They love making music and performing, for them it is a great feeling to create a mystical experience on the dancefloor, and the main thing for them is to have fun and enjoy what they do.
