Help for Editors - To understand how you could format an article on the site, please have a look into the source code of any article or use the "Cheat sheet". A cheat sheet or crib sheet is a concise set of notes used for quick reference. "Cheat sheet" may also be rendered "cheatsheet" or "cheat-sheet." How do I create a new article?

The easiest way is to search what you are looking for. If it is not in the database, you will be asked to create it.

For creating a new article also see Wikipedia:Your first article and Wikipedia:Article development. You need to have a Wikipedia account to create a new article. For creating a new page in your userspace see How do I create a user subpage?

How do I edit a page?

To edit the whole page at once, click the "edit this page" tab at the top. To edit just one section, click the "edit" link to the right of the section heading. See the "Cheat sheet" for the most basic wikitext codes.

How do I make links?

A link is just the name of the page surrounded by double square brackets ( and ). It's also possible to make the link display text that is different from that of the link itself:
page name
page names -- suffix text will display as part of the link
display name -- the piped link: hide the page name and display something else (but use this sparingly, and never "click here"!)

Our personal explanation on how to do a link

at first please write the link with http:// and use the link button on top of the editor.

The link should be written like this:

[URL; name of the project without www.] some informations about the link

An example:

Liese Hamburg based DJ and journalist Liese

Stimpskov Psychedelic Traveller´s Creative Director

(The brackets are created by pressing:

 • (if you use Windows) alt GR + 8 and alt GR + 9
 • (if you use mac OS) alt + 5 and alt + 6)

which should look like this in the end:

Liese Hamburg based DJ and journalist Liese

Stimpskov Goettingen based DJ and Grafic Designer

Please Make sure that you put the Links into the right categories!

 • Networks
 • Parties
 • Labels
 • Acts
 • DJs
 • Visuals
 • Photos
 • Shops
 • Travel
 • Other

And put them into alphabetical order!!!!!!

We basically don´t have the time to re-edit all of the links, so we´ll delete non Categorized links!!!

Also, we´re not able to speak all the languages of the world, so putting them into the categories helps!

If there´s an english site, please link to that one.

Networks ===== ===== Parties ===== ===== Labels ===== ===== Acts ===== ===== DJs ===== ===== Visuals ===== ===== Photos ===== ===== Shops ===== ===== Travel ===== ===== Other
How do I change the name of an article? How do I rename a page?

You move the article using the "move" button (to the right of the "edit this page" button). You must have an account, and it must be at least four days old and made ten edits to move pages. If the move is controversial or fails with an error message, visit Wikipedia:Requested moves.

FAQ (Pictures)

How can I add pictures to pages?

First, you need the right to publish the picture under the GNU Free Documentation License or another free license. This means that either you created the picture and therefore own the copyright, or it is in the public domain. If the picture is located on a server you control, you can refer to that image from your wiki page by simply including its URL, like this:
http://www.example.org/image.png
and it will be included. (Note it will only be linked like this: http://www.example.org/image.png, the image will not be displayed.)

Picture upload

If instead you want to upload a picture to psychedelic-traveller.net, you can use special:upload as a logged-in user and once it is uploaded, you can refer to it in your wiki pages as above, by including its file name:

 • to use the full version of the file
 • to use a 200 pixel wide rendition in a box in the left margin with 'alt text' as description
 • for directly linking to the file without displaying the file

Please take care that you also include the following data to your upload:

 • Description: The subject of the image
 • Source: The copyright holder of the image or URL of the web page the image came from
 • Date: Date the image was created. The more exact, the better
 • Location: Where the image was created. The more exact the better
 • Author: The image creator, especially if different from the copyright holder
 • Permission: Who or what law or policy gives permission to post on Psychedelic Traveller with the selected image copyright tag

How can I delete uploaded items?

Only Administrators can delete uploads, but anyone can upload a new item with the same name, thereby replacing the old one.
